Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 June 2026  ·  Effective date: 22 June 2026

1. About GearHunter

GearHunter (operated by MDB TechWorks, "we", "us", "our") is a price-aggregation and deal-alert service that tracks prices across South African outdoor retailers. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

GearHunter provides:

Price data is collected automatically from publicly accessible retailer websites. We display information in good faith but do not guarantee accuracy, completeness or real-time availability. Always verify the price on the retailer's website before purchasing.

3. Subscriptions and billing

GearHunter offers two paid plans:

Billing is processed by Stripe, Inc. on a recurring monthly basis. Your card is charged on the same date each month. All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.

A free trial or introductory period may be offered; no charge is made until the trial ends. You will be notified before the first charge.

4. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until that date. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial months already billed, except where required by South African consumer law.

If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 30 days at michael@mdbtechworks.com and we will investigate.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Intellectual property

The GearHunter brand, website design, software and aggregated data are owned by MDB TechWorks. Product names, images and descriptions belong to the respective retailers and manufacturers. We display them under fair-use principles for consumer information purposes only.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, GearHunter and MDB TechWorks are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from reliance on price data, missed deals, service downtime or third-party retailer actions. Your total remedy is limited to the subscription fee paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to the service or these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts. Consumers retain rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
